The regional government, through the Directorate General of People with Disability Action Instituto Murciano (IMAS), under the Ministry of Health and Social Policy, allocates 857,553 euros to fund 70 places to disability care and keep in Aguilas 124 spaces in the Center for Child Development and Early Intervention.
The Minister of Health and Social Policy, Catherine Lorenzo, provided these data on the actions that are being developed in the field of attention to disability in the town during his visit today to professionals and users of the Association of Parents of Alumni and Alumnae of Occupational Center Urci Mentally Handicapped.
In this act, Lorenzo was accompanied by the mayor of Eagle, Bartolomé Hernández and by the managing director of IMAS, Leopoldo Navarro;
CEO Disability IMAS, John Brown;
and the mayor of Health and Human Services aquiline Consistory, Ana María Miñarro.
Specifically, explained the minister, the IMAS 390,831 euros subsidizes 35 seats on the Occupational Center Mentally Handicapped 'URCI', in which services are offered: personal development, integration, physical therapy and prevention, among others.
Also, other leisure-therapy workshops, gardening or computer are performed, for example.
In this center, where it serves people over 16 years with an intellectual disability equal to or greater than 33 percent grade, work ten professionals to provide specialized care with individual character and adapted to the circumstances of each user .
After visiting the various departments of the center, accompanied by its president, Josefa López, Catalina Bartolome Hernandez Lorenzo and appreciated the work developed by professionals.
The Minister said that "this is a great social resource to continue supporting the group of disabled Eagles and promote socio-work balance and respite from their closest beings."
For his part, the mayor said "the great integration work they perform, also supported by the Consistory aquiline and not just financially, but through numerous activities and programs such as workshops driver education or acquiring shells carnival that Students take to the popular battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, among other initiatives. "
Finally, Lorenzo reiterated the commitment of the regional government to support the consolidation of services to meet the group of persons with disabilities and concluded that "the objective is to ensure access to services for the disabled."
