Today Friday, 10 October, World Mental Health Day is celebrated.
Coinciding with this anniversary, the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness Eagles and Shire (AFEMAC) has organized an open day, to show the citizens of the municipality the work they do.
To mark this anniversary, mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez and Councilwoman Health and Social Services, Ana María Miñarro visited this morning AFEMAC headquarters, where they were received by its president, Dolores Morales.
During the meeting, the authorities were able to see the daily tasks performed by more than thirty members of this group, supported and coordinated by nine professionals and volunteers working with various personnel practices.
The local chief executive and the mayor highlighted the important work of this association, expressing the commitment of the city government to continue supporting her in everything needed.
The visit concluded with the reading of a manifesto, which involved different guests.
The activities will continue this afternoon with a game of football team will face a combined AFEMAC formed by several council and staff of the City of Eagle.
