With the imminent celebration of World Breast Cancer Day, which is celebrated on 19 October, the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), in collaboration with the Department of Health of the City of Águilas, installed this morning an information booth in the Plaza of Spain, from where they conducted an awareness campaign aimed at the prevention and detection of the disease.
Eagles Mayor Bartolome Hernandez and the mayor of Health, Ana María Miñarro visited the information table, along with other councilors of the municipal corporation, where they were received by the local president of the AECC, Dolores Perez, and the members group 'Long x Living' that placed them pink ribbon showing solidarity towards the 22,000 women who each year are diagnosed with this cancer in Spain.
All present emphasized the importance of women having regular mammograms attend, in order to detect disease at a stage where it can conveniently be treated, especially those with an age between 45 and 69 years.
Tomorrow Saturday, October 18, several people from the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer will travel to Murcia, to participate in an act of regional character that has been organized to mark World Breast Cancer Day.
