The Councillor for Health and Social Services City of Eagle, Ana María Miñarro visited this morning the Occupational Center Urci Mentally Handicapped, during the Open Day which is being carried out in these agencies.
Accompanied by other authorities and members of various local groups, the mayor was greeted by the president of the Center, Josefa Lopez, and the technical director of the Federation of Organizations for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy of the Region of Murcia ( FEAPS), Elvira Moreno, who toured with the different spaces where the building is divided.
In these installations physiotherapy, personal development and integration are offered as well as craft workshops, gardening or computer science, among a long list of activities aimed at people over 16 who are at or above the 33 percent intellectual disabilities.
Indeed, throughout this week and in collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services aquiline Consistory, teachers and students of this group installed a daily stand in the Plaza of Spain where they show performed by the users.
Also, until next December 19, the Parents Association Urci Occupational Center is engaged in a campaign to collect food for Caritas, in collaboration with FEAPS Region of Murcia, with the intention of demonstrating that people with disabilities, as well have needs, can contribute much to our society and help the needy.
Request non-perishable products, mainly sugar, oil, cocoa powder and canned fish.
Ana María Miñarro this joint initiative applauded and praised the daily work of the directors and professionals working in front of the Centre, to which he reiterated the support of the City of Eagle.
