The mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, and the Director General of Local Government and Institutional Relations, José Antonio Blasco, inaugurated last night the rehabilitation of the Railway Bridge Stove and musealization an existing tunnels in the area, restored in 2011 and the path that goes to the viewpoint of the pier of the same name, all declared of Cultural Interest.
With the rehabilitation of that bridge, located on the Rambla de Las Culebras, Eagles gets obsolete infrastructure, which is part of the heritage of the city, while significantly improving the image of one of the entrances to the town, next to the Playa de Las Delicias and the auditorium and conference Infanta Doña Elena.
As explained by the local chief executive, investment has exceeded 270,000 euros, provided by the Autonomous Community and the City of Eagle, allowing restoration at all levels and providing it with LED lighting as well as a gateway to walk over it.
It has also created two accesses to the top of the bridge, one by stairs and another with a metal ramp that allows the transit of persons with disabilities.
As for the enhancement of the tunnel, framed in the tour itinerary that reaches the viewpoint of Pier Stove, have carried out works for an amount of around 125,000 euros, financed by the three governments (local, regional and national), under the Tourism Competitiveness Plan 'Eagles, Sea and Fisheries'.
The works have focused on musealization the tunnel, in which photographs and explanatory panels on large railway infrastructure environment included.
Similarly, luminaires were installed around the performance area, plus large signage with information on sightseeing.
