The next weekend, the columbine hamlet of Tébar hold its festivities in honor of San Anton Abad, patron saint of animals, with a program of events that was presented this morning at the City of Eagle.
The ceremony was conducted by the mayor of Celebration, Clara Valverde, accompanied by the village headman, Juan José Méndez, and the president of the neighborhood association, Blas Carrasco.
The council explained that this will be the second consecutive year the festive day will cover two days, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January, not just one as was customary years ago, so that the poster event will be wider and varied.
According Clara Valverde, the schedule of activities and include traditional events such as the procession with the statue of the saint or the dance of bids and Easter, while it introduced new features like the famous comic performance Chema Ruiz or hiking and mountain biking.
Meanwhile, the president of the neighborhood association explained the content of the program of events, most of which will be held in the Social Hall Tébar, which include the following proposals:
Saturday, January 17
At 9 am, route and mountain bike trails, the latter guided to know the archaeological sites and environment of the area.
From 21 pm comedy show by comedian famed Chema Ruiz.
Then performance by singer Juan 'El Sevillano' and dancers.
Sunday, January 18
At 13 hours, Mass and subsequent blessing of animals.
At 14 hours, Solemn Procession with the image of San Anton Abad.
As usual, will be auctioned among participants the right to bear the saint and the banner.
The day will continue with dancing and singing Bidding Easter, with the participation of the Gang Cuesta de Gos.
Throughout the evening there will be different sweepstakes and bar service, ending with the traditional 'demands for Easter'.
The village headman concluded this meeting with the media with a call for participation, inviting all citizens to visit this weekend the hamlet of Tébar and enjoy the events that have been organized in honor of San Anton Abad.
