The Eagles Casino hosted the celebration of the second contest sugarless sweets and cakes, organized by the Diabetic Association of Eagles (ADIA), in collaboration with the Department of Health of the Consistory aquiline.
A total of nine participants, who drew twelve courses, made it clear that can reduce dietary sugars without eliminating the pleasure of sweetness.
The mayor of this area, Ana María Miñarro, and the president of ADIA, Yolanda Gallego, led the jury;
also composed by Juan Carlos Ortiz, a partner at ADIA, and businesswoman Beatriz Garcia, who rewarded the most succulent and original dishes, giving some awards went to:
First prize: Juan Carlos Prisons with 'Carrot Cake'.
Second prize: Fina Martinez 'Sausage'.
Award for the best decoration: Amparo Diaz, with 'Pumpkin Cakes'.
After delivery of distinctions, Councillor for Health stressed that 'although a person suffering from diabetes, taking any food in moderation can eat everything'.
Also highlighted the good taste of candy and cakes, despite being sweetened and not carry sugar.
Finally, he thanked the high turnout in this second edition of the event.
