The Plenary of the Regional Assembly of Murcia has unanimously approved this morning an institutional statement "welcomes the recent appointment Eagles Carnival as celebration of International Tourist Interest, and adds to the appreciation of the work carried out by aquiline over the years to achieve that deserved award. "
The regional parliament recognized in the preamble to the declaration that the Eagles Carnival is one of the oldest holiday traditions of the Region of Murcia, whose roots tie in with the Ibero-Roman world, the Saturnalia, the Lupernalias and feasts in honor of Janus, which has survived to this day thanks to the unanimous effort of an entire people, represented by its Municipal Corporation, carnival clubs and neighbors.
The Assembly considers that the declaration of International Tourist Interest is a "major achievement" not only for Eagles but for our entire region, and that from now on, the Eagles Carnival, with its rocks and characters like Muse Don Carnal, Doña Lent and Musona, be faithful ambassador of the Region of Murcia and festivals worldwide.
