They have already started construction of the pedestrian walkway on the Rambla del Cañarete, which is implemented by the state society Waters of the Mediterranean Basin (Acuamed) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment is responsible.
This work, which was requested by the City of Eagle, is one of the two included in the Draft Land Restitution associated with the construction, also from Acuamed, desalination plant Águilas / Guadalentín, in service since February 2013 and representing an investment of 238 million euros.
The work will be completed before the summer, so that citizens will have this defendant infrastructure that will serve to continue the busy promenade of "La Colonia" up to the Hotel Puerto Juan Montiel, a stretch widely used by many people to take a walk by the bay Poniente, in addition to tourists staying at this popular hotel establishment.
The project foresees the implementation of a walkway 35 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, made of stainless steel duplex.
It is an innovative material for such structures, which is optimal durability and design.
Furthermore, the absence of intermediate supports keeps unchanged the characteristics of drainage from the coastline.
The minimum depth achieved through the typology, the use of an excellent material and lightening holes beams, make the structure is integrated naturally in the coastal urban location.
It also will reshape the environment and surrounding ride, allowing access to the gateway from the different routes, respecting accessibility criteria for people with disabilities.
A lighting system with efficient technology, LED type, according to the design of the structure, which will illuminate the walkway itself and its approaches is also installed.
