The lounge at the Yacht Club restaurant Eagles hosted in a pre-election yesterday afternoon ceremony attended by over 120 women, with the presence of the national president of the PSOE, Micaela Navarro, as well as the socialist candidate for Regional Assembly and the mayor of Eagle, Rosa Peñalver and Mari Carmen Moreno, respectively.
During the women's event, organized by the Socialist Group of Eagle, the national president of the PSOE said: "I am here to listen to you to you and because Mari Carmen has a commitment to truth and his people, a draft credible future, is a young woman and I am grateful to be in politics when I could be more comfortable. "
Focusing on the issues to be discussed, Micaela Navarro warned that cuts in equality for women returned to the starting point in the fight for their rights and freedoms and stressed that man will not be free while women do not reach an economic and personal independence.
For its part, the candidate for mayor of Eagle noted how difficult it is for a woman to reconcile work and family life, stressing the need to subsidize from the council the cost of childcare, unaffordable for many families.
He also explained that other important commitments as the impetus to female employment and the free provision of textbooks are also priorities in its election manifesto.
In these respects, referred to the neighboring Andalusian town of Pulpí where these social measures work for many years.
The mayor of that town, who was among those present, confirmed the words of Mari Carmen Moreno.
Rosa Peñalver made a brief review of how the changes have been happening to women from the Franco until today;
opening a discussion in which participants could review and discuss with the speakers on equal opportunities
between men and women, the operation of the law of dependence or gender violence.
