The spokesman for the Municipal People's Party (GMP) and regional deputy, Isabel Maria Soler, this morning a motion in the City of Eagle to raise the regular full month of July.
The proposal, which will be discussed in that plenary session, referring to the Popular Party of the Region of Murcia, listening to the will of the citizens expressed in the last regional and municipal elections, defends and promotes a new way of doing politics, with more participation of citizens in decision-making and a greater closeness between government representatives and their constituents.
The Regional Assembly has presented a reform of the Electoral Law of the Region of Murcia, choosing for processing the emergency procedure.
While respecting the agreement for the democratic regeneration and for the stability and governance of the Region of Murcia, signed last June between the Popular Party of the Region of Murcia and the party Citizen-Party of the Citizenship in the Region Murcia, and by the commitment made in the agreement for future reform of the Electoral Law of the Region of Murcia, we understand the urgency procedure chosen for the processing of that reform, has no motivation.
We advocate a reform of the electoral law in which all Murcia, who are ultimately affected by the Act, may review, a reform that will lead to a modern, excellent electoral law, resulting from the analysis and study of experts in the field and that empowers more so the proximity of public representatives with citizens.
It is clear that the time limits specified for the emergency procedure do not allow the opinion of citizens, the contributions of experts, nor the search for formulas that enable a greater closeness of representatives with their constituencies.
For all the above, the GMP in the City of Eagle presented for discussion and approval to the plenary the following resolutions:
Regional urge the Assembly to change the urgent procedure for the processing of the Electoral Reform Law of the Region of Murcia, on the other procedure whose terms allow consult the opinion of the citizens about the contributions of experts in the field and the search for formulas that enable greater proximity of public representatives with their constituencies.
To urge the Regional Assembly and the Government of the Region of Murcia to put in place the mechanisms and formalities necessary for citizens of the Region of Murcia can be consulted on the reform of the electoral law and thus express their opinion respect.
To urge the Regional Assembly to the Electoral Reform Law of the Region of Murcia does not come into force until it is becomes effective the expression of opinion of the citizens of the Region of Murcia, referring to it.
Regional urge the Assembly to study and analyze formulas or mechanisms to ensure the representativeness of the different regions of Murcia in the Regional Assembly and their incorporation into the Reform of the Electoral Act.
