More than two hundred attendees participated this morning in the seaside Mass in the Lonja the fishing port of Aguilas, held in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of fishermen.
The events, scheduled from the Fishermen's Association of Eagles, gave beginning yesterday with a mass serenade at the door of the Church of Carmen.
At around ten o'clock the temple doors opened to make way, among the public there alive banded, the image of the Virgen del Carmen.
The concert, which was conducted by the Band of the Musical Patronage Columbine, under the baton of Juan Rojo, included a repertoire of eleven pieces highlighting its emotion or the hymn Salve Marinera Eagles, marking Mediterranean paradise collecting the image of the patron saint of men and women of the sea.
This morning the acts moved to the Fish Eagles which made entry to the Virgen del Carmen on the shoulders of a group of bearers and again was received to the applause of the public.
The religious ceremony was attended by the mayor of Eagle, Mari Carmen Moreno, who has offered a bouquet to guide seafarers;
the first deputy mayor, Vicente Ruiz Robles;
the Councillor for Culture, Lucia Hernandez;
and the councilor of Celebration, Encarnacion Navarro.
The events this afternoon will resume with a Mass at 18.30 in the church of Carmen after which the image of the Virgen del Carmen procesionará the streets of Eagles up to the seaport where you will board the decorated for the occasion hooked fleet.
