Since 1995, year in which the first union elections were held in the company, Comisiones Obreras has obtained all union representation.
In these first elections were three delegates elected;
in 2003 the increase in the workforce led to the establishment of a 'Committee of five members and then the successive increases in staff have allowed the creation of Company Committees of nine members, all representatives by Comisiones Obreras.
Over the years, with the strong support of the workers of Culmarex-Eagles, we have been able to negotiate a collective agreement that has been progressively improving social and economic conditions of all staff of the company (divers, feeders, netters and staff processing plant), to the point to say that currently there is no collective agreement in the field of fisheries, both at companies and higher level, which equals the Convention Culmarex-Eagles.
Also, in these years and in collaboration with the National Federation and the Social Marine Institute, we were the first in the region of Murcia in studies and organizing workshops on prevention of occupational hazards of professional diving in fish farms.
We understand that our maintenance as the only union strength in the company during this time has been the result of a continued union action of the council, based on support and advice to workers, as well as negotiating with the company, solving the problems that have been brought up over time;
industrial action that has earned the trust of workers and respect for the company, allowing candidates CCOO trade union elections have won again.
Comisiones Obreras Citizen Services, Region of Murcia, thanks to all staff of CULMAREX-eagles, their strong commitment to the delegates of Workers' Commissions that represent them for the next four years.
