The Presidential Eagles today participated in an exercise to rescue shipwrecked and finding missing at sea which has been organized by the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Center in Cartagena, under the supervision of the Harbour Master.
This training has led to the mobilization of resources and staff of the Maritime Security and Rescue Society, Red Cross Customs Enforcement, Civil Guard, Spanish Armada and the Directorate General of Public Safety and Emergency.
The exercise, called 'Roncaor 2016' (name given to a rocky crag existing on the beach of La Colonia de Aguilas and the fish of the species Pomadasys incisus), developed on the coast of Aguilas and consisted of simulating emergencies occurred in three stages, one in which rescued the 15 passengers of a ferry sinking accident;
one in which search and rescue of a missing person at sea was organized;
and in the third stage the evacuation of the crew was simulated, some wounded, two sailboats would have collided.
The Maritime Security and Rescue Society has participated in this exercise with the Safety Coordinator Cartagena, two boats and a helicopter Centre;
Spanish Red Cross, with a vessel;
the Civil Guard has provided a maritime unit;
Surveillance and Customs and Navy patrol two bodies with each.
The Directorate General of Public Safety and Emergency participated in the exercise in his capacity as director of the Surveillance and Rescue in Playas and Rescue at Sea in the Region of Murcia (COPLA Plan), with its maritime zone coordinator.
