"The different ways in which society is presented in gender-based violence are now being analyzed in the framework of research that examines the socio-cultural elements of masculine and feminine identities, which demonstrate that gender violence is genes and is not an inescapable destiny of humanity.
Today, the explanatory models of violence against women have evolved from a perspective that only saw disturbed individuals, to one that serves many causal factors combined can lead to the survival and even to reinforce sexist stereotypes in our contemporary culture.
For many years the various forms of assaults against women have been downplayed and even denied by the patriarchal society, placing the problem in the private sphere of conflicts of partners or relatives, and condemning, therefore, women into silence and submission .
Today we commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. "
Currently there is greater public awareness, with the entry into force of the Act on Equality between Women and Men and Protection against Gender Violence in the Region of Murcia, gives us the best tool to fight for its eradication.
Violence against women is a violation against human rights and greater discrimination and violation of the right to equality.
One year, we join together to eliminate this social evil which affects not only women but society as a whole.
Worked on legislative and social framework that is focused on generating awareness, non-sexist education to create quality media which portrays women as subjects and not objects, we must work to devise effective measures to eradicate, and to deter profit prostituidores pimps and, in short, we promote the effective development of measures and actions aimed at prevention and early detection that is violence against women.
This form of violence is one of the most degrading human rights violations.
No boundaries, cultures, economic levels.
Is present in times of armed conflict and in peacetime, at home, at work and on the street.
It is a fact that stands for equality, peace, development and human rights for all people, now more than ever we must remember.
Each and everyone can and must fight against gender violence by law, the Equal Opportunities Policy and education, striving to convey nonviolent models, enhancing self-esteem of girls and women to be able to reject those who do not respect and pointing to those with their attitudes and discriminatory behavior, abuse and murder women who claim to love.
We must be able to create a more just society rich in values in which we identify, where everyone and we feel we are truly equal.
If domestic violence is an obstacle to achieving equality we tear it down to progress. "
The events will conclude on Friday 28 November, with a round table, which will take place at 19.30 pm in the Hall of Mirrors at the Casino de Aguilas, which will bring together different professionals related to gender violence.
