The director general of Transport and Ports of the Region, Carmen Sandoval, paid a visit to the nursing home 'San Francisco' Eagles to deliver a new vehicle adapted for the private transport of persons with disabilities.
It's a van, funded with 27,066 euros, with capacity for two wheelchairs and four seats that will facilitate the transfer of 15 disabled people between the day care center and homes.

During the ceremony, Sandoval recalled the regional government's commitment through its program of grants for transportation, including a line of credit is adapted vehicles.
Director also noted the work of the partnership that "aims to improve the situation of autonomy, dignity and ultimately, the quality of life of the individual, in this case by facilitating the mobility in his movements."
Sandoval recalled that the Ministry of Public Works and Planning in 2007 awarded grants worth 164,500 euros to various associations for the purchase of eight vehicles, and in 2008 the endowment has increased 18 percent to 195,000 euros, which have permitted to acquire a total of ten vehicles adapted for non-profit associations or put them to the needs of users with mobility problems.
Sandoval said that the call for grants line scheduled for next year will be released in the coming months.
