The Civil Guard dismantled a criminal group engaged in the receiving of stolen effects (30/07/2009)

It has clarified a dozen crimes, and has returned some of the effects recovered to their rightful owners.

One detainee has a history of committing criminal acts before.

The Civil Guard in the operation called "FERRY" developed over the past months, has dismantled a criminal group engaged in purchasing stolen from effects to transport them to Morocco and once there to sell on the illicit market.

So far it has arrested two persons, one being the ringleader, as alleged perpetrators of the crime of receiving, in addition to seizing more than fifty stolen effects.

The operation began last June when it was learned, thanks to the cooperation of citizens, the existence of a group of people who could be involved in criminal activity.

Initial investigations led to the Civil Guard to see how this group of people living in the town of Aguilas, allegedly acquired by custom effects from theft, in order to transfer them to Morocco and once there, trading on the illicit market.

Later, after establishing numerous monitoring devices, the agents identified two members of the criminal group, also located a building used by the network and store the stolen objects acquired and their means of transport.

Modus operandi

This criminal group recently began their criminal activity, establishing contacts with persons engaged in the commission of robberies, usually in homes, primarily active in Eagle and surrounding towns.

At these meetings, the members of this network of receiving initiated a relationship of trust with these criminal habitual offenders, to order the removal of effects in order to acquire the payment of the agreed amount.

The effects removed were stored until the completion of sufficient volume to make a shipment, which was then transported by land and sea to the illicit market in Morocco, where they finished their business, achieving significant benefits.

Friday afternoon, on 24, accelerated the exploitation phase of the operation when it detected the beginning of a conveyance of goods stolen, immediately establishing a police where the Civil Guard had the support of the local police Eagles , resulting in moments later to the location of crossover used by two people and loaded with a large number of objects allegedly illicit origin, proceeding following his arrest and subsequent remand in custody.

Instructed the police had been able to determine that a detainee was the leader of this criminal network.

So far two people have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crime of receiving stolen property, identified as:

AA, (head of the network), 36, of Moroccan nationality and resident of Eagles

YR, 27, a Moroccan and a resident of Eagles.

Among the items allegedly stolen from recovered in the operation phase are bicycles, televisions, professional tools, electronics, watches, mobile phones and jewelry.

After making the first analysis of information obtained in research is unclear about a dozen crimes against property, delivering stolen items to their rightful owners.

The judicial management of this operation has had the Magistrate's Court Number One of Lorca (Murcia).

With this first phase of the operation has succeeded in dismantling a criminal organization dedicated to receiving and to encouraged the commission of crimes against property, continuing with investigations and not ruling out further arrests occur.
