Last Saturday saw the XXVII Night Race "Mayor of Eagles" with the participation of over 700 athletes.
The race began at 18'20 hours, leaving the male and female prebenjamín category, succeeding tests in the different categories: baby, juvenile, infant, cadet, junior, junior, promises, senior, and veteran-bcdef wheelchairs, to conclude with the trophy, "Mayor of Eagles."
In the senior women from a total of 5,000 m, the podium was as follows:
1 - Kimutai, Salome (Kenya).
Prize money of € 400.
2 - Ayachi, Faim (Morocco).
Cash prize of 200 €.
3 - Mwaura, Mary (Kenya).
Cash prize of 150 €.
In the Trophy "Mayor of Eagles" the Kenyan Ezekiel Meli was about to beat the best mark, 5 seconds of the record set in 1997 by Philip Rugut of 29minutos and 1 second with a time of 29 minutes and 6 seconds.
The absolute podium was as follows:
1 - Meli, Ezekiel (Kenya).
Cash prize of 700 €.
2 - Mhamdi, Hafid (Morocco).
Prize money of € 400.
3 - Maiya, Henry (Kenya).
Cash prize of 300 €.
The awards ceremony was conducted by the Mayor of Eagle, Juan Ramírez Soto, President of the Athletics Federation of Murcia, Rosendo Berenguier and Councillor for Sports, Francisco Hernández.
