The city of Eagle has returned to pay tribute to the occasion deserved to be his most universal countryman, the great actor Paco Rabal.
The event, which was attended by the Mayor of Aguilas, Juan Ramírez Soto, and other council members of the consistory aquiline, took place last Sunday, August 30 at the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos.
The event, organized to mark the eighth anniversary of death was, was a recital of poems by Gloria Fuertes, by the widow and granddaughter of the famous actor, Asuncion Balaguer y Candela Rabal, under the direction of his son, filmmaker, Benito Rabal.
During the recital, Asuncion Balaguer had words of thanks, to the more than five hundred people attending, to keep alive the memory of her husband.
For its part, the mayor, Juan Ramirez, said that "these events to commemorate the death of not only an illustrious countryman and an actor without equal, but a great person, must endure throughout the years."
Francisco Rabal died on August 29, 2001, due to respiratory failure, he returned to Spain by plane from Montreal.
