All municipal groups represented in the Hall of Eagles (PP, PSOE, MASD, IU + and Mixed Greens) will raise the regular plenary session in November to be held next Tuesday at 20:00 pm, a motion together for study, discussion and approval.
The text of the letter, referring to the twentieth anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, is as follows:
On November 20, 2009, the Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN, 1989) is 20 years.
20 November 20 years ago, United Nations adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Since that day, all children of our country, and around the world have been recognized for their rights of citizenship upon arrival in the world.
The role of Local Authorities to make society more just and inclusive is fundamental.
The example for the society should make our municipalities, which are the institutions closer to citizens.
The councils should take action and policies that lead to our daily lives the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The child's right to express their views, to be heard and to have due regard to their views (art. 12 CDN) is a job that has only just begun.
This is a work which should involve all members of our society and especially the children themselves.
Promoting children's participation will make our communities move towards a more sustainable human and understanding, in which all and all we have in mind.
The time has come to know in depth the situation of children in our cities, to redirect child policy on the promotion and protection of their rights, to put the priorities of our policy agenda for children.
Thus, children will be trained and improved in their condition of citizens, meeting and recognizing their rights and responsibilities.
Therefore, it is proposed to Full Council the adoption of the following agreement:
Eagle City Council is committed to actively engage with its citizens, and especially its children, the task of improving and promoting policies aimed at children and adolescents in our county, providing them with the means and resources.
