After the opening ceremony, the mayor of Welfare and Equality of the City of Eagle, Josefa García, along with the spokespersons of the Municipal Groups: IU + Greens, PSOE and PP, read the following statement:
For years, we celebrate this day on November 25 to condemn violence against women and to remind the world that equality is not only an illusion or a dream, but an attainable reality, which must be present in each and every one of us, every day of our lives.
The real conquest is to make this really an everyday act.
Equality is a life choice, a real alternative to relations between men and women, which have no place abuse.
On the 25th of November is that of solidarity with victims of gender violence.
In this particular date we reach them more strongly than ever, and say they are not alone, we are with them, that the damage is inflicted every woman is a wound we suffer all.
His sentence is also ours.
Let our cry your silent cries of condemnation.
Violence, in whatever form, is the most degrading act that is capable of human beings.
"Keep me from violence, - said Martin Luther King - as expressed through language, the fist or the heart."
Apart by violence from our world, because the only thing that is capable of generating hatred and evil.
We saw every day: in the wars, terrorism, fighting ...
are all manifestations of violence, but only one hurts more, if possible, than the other, it causes an incurable wound and impervious to the passing of time.
It is the violence that wounds the soul and reaches depths of the heart, born of deceit and betrayal of feelings.
GBV is the cruelest of the attacks and the worst expressions of human dignity.
For further provoke the people you trust most.
For years, we take this day, 25 November, to ask the company a greater effort and commitment against this social scourge.
Silent demonstrations and gatherings of people committed to equality, are repeated all over the world.
They know it, they have clear gender-based violence can be fought with tolerance, solidarity, equity and justice.
All these values are different steps that are steps towards real equality.
Each step we take is a small formula of hope for future generations.
Of us and we depend on our sons and daughters to live in a world without violence against women.
So for years, we have been claiming an education in values can train people to respect your neighbor as themselves, have petitioned for redress for victims, their families and friends, the increased penalties for offenders and implementation of measures to raise the curtain on a great farce, staged for many years, perhaps too many, and had the home as a setting and society as a spectator.
For years we have done all these actions, but are still deaths from domestic violence.
In Spain, fifty-five women have been killed this year by the ill-treatment.
Fifty-five lives cut short by the simple fact of being female.
Fifty-five families broken by the pain and injustice.
We can not abandon them.
Now NO.
We must continue working in the same direction: the PAR is our goal and education of our primary tools.
Let us never forget that silence is our worst enemy and best remedy the complaint, that of the victim and his surroundings.
No room for fear.
There is no place for fear.
There is no reason not to believe in the solution of this scourge.
This is a thing of everyone, we can not look away.
Therefore, it is time to reflect and think: How do I act against gender violence?
Dear friends, dear friends.
Today we remember all victims of abuse.
And let not a moment to think about them, in solidarity, by association, for commitment.
For when any person acts with violence against women, we all suffer the terrible consequence of this unjust act.
We will end this scourge, this must be the greatest of our illusions and the foundation of all our hope.
The day will conclude with a talk that, with the title "Prevention as a way to cut violence" will take place at 19.30 pm in the Hall of Mirrors at the Casino.
Program activities will continue during the coming weekend, with the screening and awards ceremony of the First Short Film Competition, and Power Point "Short with Violence" and the Third Conference of Coeducation.
