The new siding will have a floor area of 1,620 square meters and responds to the request made by the Fishermen Eagles
The Director General of Transport and Ports Ministry of Public Works and Planning, Carmen Sandoval, accompanied by Mayor of Aguilas, Juan Ramírez, has launched today the first stone of the construction of new infrastructure at the port of Eagles to improve working conditions in the fisheries sector.
Thus, the regional government invested 455,781 euros to improve working conditions in the fishing industry of the municipality.
The installation works will benefit more than a hundred workers and encourage the development of fisheries in Aguilas, which has a fleet "most important" in the region, said Sandoval.
The new shed will be located on the pier of the harbor breakwater, will have a floor area of 1,620 square meters and will protect workers from inclement weather.
Also avoid prolonged exposure to sun or rain on arrival at the coast and provide them a safe place to lay their tools.
The works include the construction of a gable roof that will have a width of 18 meters by 90 meters in length.
In this sense, the director general stressed that "this action respond to the request from the Fishermen's Association of Eagles and the Municipality, so that professionals can work with greater safety and comfort."
The design provides that the entire area rely solely on nine pillars and lighting available at the upper ends, that is 10 feet above the pavement.
"This, according to Sandoval, will make this performance an emblematic point of the regional coast, which combine the functionality of the new infrastructure with cutting-edge design that will be seamlessly integrated into the local coastal landscape."
A clean and sustainable port
Moreover, the general manager explained that the Ministry, through the Directorate General for Transport and Ports, will install a ecopunto in the fishing port of Aguilas, in order to protect the coastline of the municipality through responsible waste management this area of high marine activity.
In addition, Sandoval added that "with the installation of this new ecopunto continues with the development of a regional responsibility and respect for the marine environment, a direct consequence of the guidelines set by the Plan for Waste Reception and Handling in seaports ".
New ecopoints also be installed in the fishing ports of Lo Pagan, Cabo de Palos, Mazarrón, will serve as a place of storage, then, will adequately treat the waste or waste generated by ships and, thus, neutralize their side clean and recycled for reuse.
