Eagles Mayor, Juan Ramírez Soto, along with other municipal authorities, this morning visited the recently completed rehabilitation works of the raft and hydraulic machinery singular "Saltaor Mill, located 7 kilometers from the city.
This infrastructure is one of the most curious relics of the region.
This is an old mill that used as a driving force for the movement of the continuous course Amoladeras water collected through a pond, located 17 meters from where it falls eventually collide with a propeller that drives the turning crushed stones turning wheat into flour.
All designed with a water return system for it to succeed in times of drought.
The beauty of the place where you are and the uniqueness of a water mill in a dry area like ours, has led to the town of Aguilas to retrieve the two-story mansion which houses the Amoladeras.
Served as the upper house of the miller's family and the bottom was distributed in a large room for the rotor and a smaller block intended for rest and food for the oxen.
In the basement there is a brick arch that was used for water leakage and diversion of it, when the gear was standing.
In the halls of the village there are panels explaining the workings of the flour mill.
According to the mayor of Eagles "to the recovery of the settlement, the raft and hydraulic machinery, installation of barbecues, toilets, playgrounds and native plants, among other actions, in addition, at present, new remodeling of the environment for use as a place for sightseeing because of the beauty of the landscape and archaeological value of the mill. "
Juan Ramirez has also stressed that "once this step will soon begin the project of the revaluation of property, with the realization of a museum, to see how a traditional flour mill."
