During the afternoon of Thursday 18 February, the President of the Association of Friends of the Saharawi people, Francisca Lajarín, handed to the Chairman of Local Red Cross Eagles, Miguel Molina Sánchez, a heel with the proceeds from the Dinner Solidarity "Aid to Haiti", held on 5 February.
€ 3,307 that were obtained thanks to the contributions of those attending the dinner, the Godfathers of the Association and numerous anonymous donations aquiline citizens who wanted to collaborate with the cause and provide aid to about 3,000,000 people affected by the earthquake in the Caribbean country.
Some donations that in the whole of society, have placed the Spanish Red Cross Society as the third National funds raised for Haiti after the United States and Canada and, to date, totaling 36,000,000 euros.
Throughout the event, Miguel Molina thanked the Association its charitable initiative, in turn informing the different projects that the Spanish Red Cross has set up to help refugee camps, such as installation of water and sanitation in schools the distribution of 4,000 gas stoves to improve their supply or distribution of nearly 1,500 Haima among the Saharawi.
