After coming to the attention of the Neighborhood Association Aquilegia opinions about his alleged anti-democratic functioning, the Board unanimously approved to make the following clarifications:
1 .- Reject all of the above statements expressed publicly.
2 .- Given the events published in local media, we endorse that all activities undertaken by this group have been developed without infringing any of the resolutions adopted and approved by the Board, as is clear from reading the Minutes.
Both the President and other members of this Directive perform their duties in strict accordance with the powers conferred under the Statutes.
3 .- AVA acts according to its fundamental principles, based on neighborhood advocacy, trying to bridge the gap between citizens and government.
Is a non-profit, independent, secular, apolitical, open to all residents and groups.
4 .- It is a long way to go.
In our first year of operation we have managed to mobilize hundreds of residents to voice their demands, and developed advocacy activities in health, education, urban, cleaning, health and safety, cultural and solidarity.
5 .- We consider finally settled with this release the issue of resignations gotten, refusing to enter into any controversy about it and, therefore, refrain from any other statement on the matter.
Not forgetting that the vocation of the Association is to keep open to all sorts of suggestions and criticisms.
